WEBLECTURE FOR OVER 200 SCHOOLS AROUND THE GLOBE

Han Valk gave an online lecture for over 200 schools around the globe. This lecture is part of a training course to support them in generating more additional income. Senior Officer Donor and Partner Relations – 38 Hours

Leprastichting / The Netherlands Leprosy Relief

Leprastichting / The Netherlands Leprosy Relief (NLR) is a Dutch organization dedicated to control leprosy worldwide with focus on early detection, treatment to break the chain of infection, prevention of disability, rehabilitation and inclusion. The organization is active in 7 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America and cooperates with local organizations and governments.

NLR is a small and efficient organization with about 50,000 private donors and around 1,000 volunteers. About 25 employees work at the Headquarters in Amsterdam, at the different departments Fundraising & Communication, Programs, Technical Support and Finance. In seven countries, we have a regional office with a total of 60 employees. There is an on-going decentralization process which includes strengthening of the capacity of Institutional Fundraising in the field offices. Next to several institutional donors such as Ministry of Health, NLR has been receiving substantial support from the Dutch Postcode Lottery since 1996, with the latest contribution of 9,4 Mil EUR.

About the position

The Position of Senior Officer Donor and Partner relations is placed within a Programmes Department, directly manages 1-2 Donor Relations Officers and coordinates and supports 5 regional fundraising officers. The position is for 38 hours a week and is based in Amsterdam with travels to the field offices.   

 WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

1) Raise funds amongst (institutional) donors

  • Develop institutional fundraising strategy
  • Build internal institutional fundraising skills
  • Identify relevant opportunities
  • Manage the production of proposal documentation within the tender process
  • Coordinate, if needed with program officers and / or externals, in cooperation with country offices the input and ensure proposals meet with overall planning and capacity
  • Network with current and potential donors and stakeholders, investing in building relationships with the goal to raise funding

2) Support regional and country offices in building fundraising skills

  • Coaching of country office staff in setting up / improving local institutional fundraising
  • Identification of training needs and trainings organization
  • Develop and implement skills development trajectories
  • Support in recruitment of new local institutional fundraisers

3) Support regional and country offices in relationships with donors

  • Maintain relationships with donors of current projects and make sure all relevant information is shared internally
  • Make sure high quality evaluations and reporting are shared with donors in time.
  • Support offices with donor compliance issues

WHAT REQUIREMENTS DO YOU NEED TO MEET?

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in a similar function;
  • Masters Degree in a relevant field; economics, sociology, anthropology, international development or other;
  • Proven institutional fundraising track record within an international organization
  • Knowledge of trends in development cooperation
  • Solid knowledge of financial reporting and contract management.
  • Work Experience in developing countries;
  • Excellent (near) native written and spoken English and Dutch. French or Portuguese are an advantage

  • Gross monthly salary of at least 3.971 EUR tot 5.549 EUR based on a 38-hour working week and depending on relevant years of experience
