In our last blog post, we shared the exciting news about our U.S. office opening in Washington D.C. Today, we would like to introduce you to Emily Bango, who will be our Head of Office.

Background

Emily holds a master’s degree in public management. She is an expert in project management and monitoring and evaluation and her work experience includes supporting various organizations focused on protecting human rights and democracy. Her past work experience placed her on both the giving and receiving end of large grants and as such, she developed a comprehensive view of fundraising and grant management. Organizations she worked with previously include the U.S. Department of State (Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor), the International Republican Institute, and Freedom House. She has extensive experience working on programs in Latin America.

Outside of her consulting work, Emily teaches yoga, writes, and loves to discover new people and places.

Our new office

As the Head of the brand-new Han Valk Fundraising Consultancy office in Washington D.C., Emily will be responsible for establishing and expanding our network in the United States. She will also be directly supporting our U.S. and European clients in their cross-continental fundraising needs. Of course, she will not be doing everything alone – she will be supported by our team at the European office in Gouda.

Motivation

We are very happy to have Emily on board as our new team member. We are looking forward to working together to support more organizations in reaching their fundraising goals.
